Story of Wisdom from God:
After King David died, His son Solomon became king over Israel. God appeared to Solomon in a drem one night and said, "Ask! What would you like for me to give to you?"
Now Solomon could have asked for riches, long life, or victory over his enemies, but he did not ask for any of these things. He said, "Give me an understanding heart to rule Your people, that I may know the difference between good and evil. Help me to judge these great people of Yours." God did give him the wisdom he asked for, and gave him the other things also: riches, long life, and victory over his enemies.
Solomon knew about many, things! He could talk about trees and animals, birds and fish. He knew things that other people didn't know, and people came from all over the world to hear him speak. Once a queen came from Sheba to hear him. She was amazed at what she saw and heard.
One day two women brought a baby to Solomon. Each woman said the baby was her child. Solomon said, "Cut the baby in half and give half of the baby to each woman." (Of course, he didn't really intend to kill the baby. It was just a test.) "NO!" screamed the real mother, "Give her the baby. Do not kill him." Then Solomon knew who the real mother was because of the way she loved the baby. He gave the baby to its real mother.
God allowed Solomon to build a beautiful temple in which people could worship God. Solomon made a big mistake in marrying women from the countries around him. These wives worshiped idols and Solomon also began to worship the false gods. He was not loyal to God as his father David had been.
Summary: Solomon got his knowledge given to him by God. Solomon was "the chosen one" chosen by the prophets. Because he was chosen, God appeared to him telling him to ask for anything he wants. He basically asked for wisdom, which God gave to him. This symbolizes that all things come from God. - Lauren Christian

1Kings 3:16-28- A Wise Ruling:
16 Now two prostitutes came to the king and stood before him. 17 One of them said, “Pardon me, my lord. This woman and I live in the same house, and I had a baby while she was there with me. 18 The third day after my child was born, this woman also had a baby. We were alone; there was no one in the house but the two of us. 19 “During the night this woman’s son died because she lay on him. 20 So she got up in the middle of the night and took my son from my side while I your servant was asleep. She put him by her breast and put her dead son by my breast. 21 The next morning, I got up to nurse my son—and he was dead! But when I looked at him closely in the morning light, I saw that it wasn’t the son I had borne.” 22 The other woman said, “No! The living one is my son; the dead one is yours.” But the first one insisted, “No! The dead one is yours; the living one is mine.” And so they argued before the king. 23 The king said, “This one says, ‘My son is alive and your son is dead,’ while that one says, ‘No! Your son is dead and mine is alive.’” 24 Then the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So they brought a sword for the king. 25 He then gave an order: “Cut the living child in two and give half to one and half to the other.” 26 The woman whose son was alive was deeply moved out of love for her son and said to the king, “Please, my lord, give her the living baby! Don’t kill him!” But the other said, “Neither I nor you shall have him. Cut him in two!” 27 Then the king gave his ruling: “Give the living baby to the first woman. Do not kill him; she is his mother.” 28 When all Israel heard the verdict the king had given, they held the king in awe, because they saw that he had wisdom from God to administer justice.

Within the sub-group of Solomon's wisdom, we researched how Solomon received his wisdom, and what he did with his gift during his lifetime. Online, Lauren discovered the story of Solomon's wisdom. Solomon was chosen by the prophets to be granted any single wish by God. Knowing that he was next in line to rule the kingdom, he chose a gift fitting for a king. The gift he chose was wisdom and "knowing" Throughout his rule, Solomon used his gift to help people, whether this mean to settle an arguement or guide people towards the right desicion. Amy found an accountof Solomon's wisdom in the bible, in Kings. This story exemplified how Solomon used his wisdom to stop an arguement between to his people, Solomon's wisdom not only benefitted himself, but his kingdom as well. It was a "wise" gift to ask for.

King Solomon was known for his wisdom, wealth and writings. He kingdom stretched from the Euphrates River to Egypt. His most known achievement was the building of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. When Solomon was just starting off as a king, Adonijah came to Solomon and asked if he could marry his servant. Solomon saw this as a threat to take over the kingdom so Solomon sent someone to kill Adonijah. Solomon then followed his last orders from his father and then overcame the last potential threats to the kingdom. After all this was finished, King Solomon appointed his friends to key military, governmental and religious posts. When the kingdom finally became peaceful, King Solomon started to build the Holy Temple. The Temple took seven years to be finished. King Solomon was also known for many other building projects. He had slaves from the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. He spent 13 years building his own palace.
